The Greedy Boy
There was a boy who lived with his grandmother.
Everyday his grandmother took out a candy from a small jar and gave it to him.
The boy often complained about eating just one candy a day.
"Grandama, please give me one more candy."
But his grandmother always said,
"No, I can't. I'll give you one candy each day.That's it for today. I'll give you another one tomorrow."
And after saying so, she put the candy jar on a high shelf.
One day the grandmother went out for shopping and the boy wanted to eat another candy.
He managed to take down the jar from shelf with difficulty and put his hand in it after opening the lid.
Since he wanted to eat candies heartily, he grasped them greedily.
But he got into trouble.
Because he couldn't get his hand out of the jar because its mouth was too narrow.
Being at a loss what to do, he began to cry.
At that moment his grandmother returned from shopping.
She smiled when she saw her grandson crying with his hand in the candy jar.
She knew why he was crying.
The grandmother said to the boy with a samile.
"Oh boy! Being too greedy will lead you into such trouble!
Let go of the candies, and you can get your hand out of it."
The boy let go of the candies and got his hand out of the jar.
